Archives Assistant - Folk Art Center (MP 382.0)
Assist researchers in use of the parks archives collection; retrieve and rehouse archival material for researchers; maintain proper care and maintenance of all documents handled; inventorying and housing the historic photograph collection; data entry of collections into museum catalog program.
Archivist/Museum Aid - Oteen Maintenance Area/Ranger Office/Dispatch (MP 382.2)
Campground Host - Roanoke Mountain (MP 120.5)
May - October 2008. Campground hosts act as ambassadors for the park, living in a campground for one to two months. Their primary duty is to provide and interpret information about camping in the park. They may also help with maintenance and assist rangers with enforcement of park rules.

Gardener - Brinegar Cabin Complex (MP 238.5)
Plant and maintain a historic garden plot focusing on heritage vegetables and crop plants such as flax, sorghum, and buckwheat. Also, plant and maintain an herb garden focusing on traditional medicinal herbs.

Volunteers needed to assist park service staff at the Visitor Center. Shifts are 4 hours per day, May to October.
Volunteer Couple - Folk Art Center (MP 382.0)
Looking for a couple where one person would be interested in working the Visitor Center desk dispensing information, operate cash register and handle money. The other person would work with maintenance predominantly assisting in roadside trash pick up, light janitorial duties and other light tasking as needed.

May-Oct.
Volunteer Information Desk Clerk - Blue Ridge Parkway Destination Center (MP 384.0)
Volunteer workers will staff the Information Desk. The purpose will be to greet visitors to the Destination Center, answer questions and provide any available information that will enhance time spent on the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area. Volunteers should enjoy working with the general public, have a basic interest in regional history, and be flexible and accommodating toward visitors and center staff.

Individuals knowledgeable about early 20th century furnishing (especially of mountain cabins) to assist with acquiring period furnishing of Matthews Cabin.
