FRIENDS Appalachian State University Chapter

469 mile award

Our ASU student chapter assisted with the Price Lake Campground cleanup in March 2010, We represented  FRIENDS and the Parkway at an area Honor the Earth Celebration in April 2010 and also provided volunteers for BRP75 Symposium at ASU in April 2010. Plans for Fall 2010 include adopting all of several portions of the long Tanawah Trail, representing FRIENDS at an international conservation gathering in September, and sponsoring bus transportation for ASU students to the BRP75 Anniversary Festival events.

We are committed to forging strong connections with new Boone/Blowing Rock FRIENDS Chapter and grateful for their commitment to recognize and celebrate the efforts of our student chapter. We hope to be a model for other college student chapters along the Parkway.

If you are interested in volunteering for upcoming chapter projects, please contact Heather Paige Preston.
