Trails Forever

The Blue Ridge Parkway has over 100 different trails covering over 350 miles.

This vast trail system is an extensive access network connecting millions of people to these natural landscapes. The hiking experience deepens public awareness of the grandeur and fragility of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The objective of Trails Forever is to improve the quality of the Blue Ridge Parkway trails, enhance the experiences of the park user, support resource preservation and engage the corridor communities in sustaining the park's trail system forever. FRIENDS is working with the Park Service to expand and build a first-class trail system, but we can only do this with your help.

FRIENDS recruits Trail Groups to construct trails, build bridges, maintain trails and provide landscaping to improve the quality of our trails.

Our goal is to also have Trail Ambassadors that can help visitors learn more about the parks natural resources as they hike the trail.

Gifts of $100 or more will be listed in our newsletter annually, plus you will receive the new one-size-fits-all FRIENDS' cap.

On the ridges, along the brooks, below the trees -- majestic beauty is found along our trails. Help us maintain them for all of us.

You are a vital part of the success of this project. Please join us in the Trails Forever program. If possible, become a volunteer, it's great fun and you'll make some terrific new friends.

If becoming a volunteer is not possible, you can still participate financially. Please give generously to the Trails Forever program at FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
